Sometimes the easiest explanation is the correct one

In a thread with Jason Becker, Adam Newbold said in a post on social.lol:

@adam I guess what I’m saying is I don’t believe this is as laden with intention as you might think. I think it’s two badly designed features interacting in a weird way.

Jason Becker is right. There were several responses I made to Adam and Brandon Jones expecting they would see them. I thought it odd that nobody responded. Thought I was being muted or blocked or just plain old ignored. More importantly, though I asked Manton about those features, I never turned them on/off/whatever. What's rotten is bad software.

Honestly what the hell is the point of @ responding to someone on the Fediverse if you don't expect them to see it? I could have easily said all the same stuff without the @.
