The file search utility you didn’t know you needed
As great as Spotlight is on the Mac sometimes a purpose-built search tool is a better fit. File Any File is that tool. When would it be a better fit? Any time you need to search for something that Spotlight doesn’t index (it also searches Spotlight’s index).
FAF is also extendable via scripts written in JavaScript or Lua. Thomas, the author, used this feature to write a replacement for another tool he wrote “Find Empty Folders”. I used to use that tool a lot when doing maintenance on my Macs.
I’ve used FAF for years and have easily gotten the $6 it cost me in value many times over. Highly recommended!
